What you actually do
Approved drivers go online in the Lyft app, review a ride’s route and estimated earnings, accept requests, pick up passengers, and see earnings when each trip ends. Drivers may use an eligible personal vehicle or a qualifying rental where available. Requirements vary locally, and drivers must maintain state-minimum personal auto insurance; ordinary personal policies often exclude rideshare use.
