What it is

Freelancers build an approved profile, search client job posts, and submit proposals describing their approach, schedule, rate, and relevant work. If hired, they complete hourly or fixed-price contracts, communicate and deliver through Upwork, and can qualify for payment protection by following its rules. Most proposals require purchased Connects, and Upwork also deducts a contract-specific freelancer service fee; review both costs and the client’s verified history before applying.
