Terms of Use
Use Limito responsibly.
These terms apply when you access Limito.net, use the exposure checker, submit the contact form, or call the public endpoints.
1. What Limito Provides
Limito provides informational email and password exposure checks. Reports are intended for personal security triage and account-safety decisions. They are not proof that an account is compromised, not a guarantee that an account is safe, and not professional legal, forensic, or incident-response advice.
2. Your Responsibilities
You may only submit information you are authorized to check. Do not use Limito to harass, stalk, profile, dox, enumerate, or target another person. Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, scrape the service, overload endpoints, reverse engineer private logic, or use the service for unlawful activity.
3. Password Checks
Password checks are designed so your browser hashes the password before sending a SHA-1 prefix and suffix to the server. You are responsible for using a trusted device and browser. Do not submit passwords you are not authorized to test.
4. Search Handling
Limito is built without a user database for search submissions. Email reports return masked addresses, and repeated email checks may be short-term cached in masked report form to reduce abuse and provider cost. Infrastructure providers may still process ordinary request metadata such as IP address, timestamp, user agent, and logs needed to operate and secure the service.
5. Availability and Accuracy
The service depends on third-party sources, DNS responses, network availability, browser APIs, and provider rate limits. Results may be incomplete, delayed, incorrect, unavailable, or change over time. You should verify important security decisions through additional trusted sources.
6. API and Automation
Public endpoints are provided for normal interactive use and reasonable integration testing. Automated or high-volume use requires prior permission. Limito may block, throttle, cache, or reject requests at any time to protect the service and its providers.
7. No Warranties
Limito is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Limito disclaims warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Limito and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, security incidents, account losses, or decisions made from use of the service.
9. Changes
Limito may change the service or these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
10. Contact
Use the contact form for questions about these terms, abuse reports, or security concerns.
